America's Most Expensive Homes

The nation's highest end homes have price tags as unbelievable as the properties themselves.

#1. "Fleur De Lys" Holmby Hills, California, $125 Million
#2. "Tranquility" Zephyr Cove, Nevada, $100 Million
#3. "Dunnellen Hall" Greenwich, Connecticut , $95 Million

Leona Helmsley's $95 Million Mansion

Dunnellen Hall is a private mansion located in Greenwich, CT and is currently being sold by the estate of Leona Helmsley. The current listing price is US$95 Million even though the largest amount ever paid for an estate in Connecticut is US$50 Million. Mrs. Helmsley's will stipulates that the estate must be sold. According to the Greenwich Historical Society, Dunnellen Hall is one of the last intact historic estates left in Greenwich.

Unlike, many other luxury real estate agents, David Ogilvy has posted an many interior and exterior photos (http://www.davidogilvy.com/h1609a.htm) and an extensive description of the property in the listing (http://www.davidogilvy.com/h1609.htm)

The $125 Million "Fleur De Lys"

Billed as "The Finest Estate in America" by listing agent Joyce Rey, this massive Hombly Hills, California home certainly has a pricetag to go along with it. At $125 Million Dollars, "Fleur De Lys" is currently the world's most expensive house currently on the market. Fleur de Lys has been on the market since 2007, but unlike some other major property owners, billionaire Suzanne Saperstein has yet to slash the price.

Joyce Rey's marketing of the property is extremely restrictive though. Her website merely features two photos of the property's exterior, the price, and the disclaimer "additional details and photos are available only to pre-qualified clients." The Luxist, however, managed to score some interior photos of the property - http://www.luxist.com/photos/fleur-de-lys/

$100 Million Dollar Lake Tahoe Home

Joel Horowitz, co-founder of Tommy Hilfiger, has put his Lake Tahoe luxury compound up for sale with a price tag of $100 Million, making it one of the country's most expensive homes currently on the market. The residence surpasses 20,000 square feet in size and features five bedrooms, a 19-seat movie theater and a wine cellar that can hold 3,200 bottles, and features a lounge based on one in New York's St. Regis Hotel and a grand staircase modeled on the Titanic's. The property is currently listed with Chase International and is so exclusive that many of the firms own agents have been unable to gain access to its interior.

For those who desire a peak inside this grade estate however, there is a brief video featuring some of the highlights at http://www.tranquilitylaketahoe.com/
